FAMILY BIRD WALK
A SEEC staff member will lead you through the basics of binocular use and general identification to make bird watching with your family a fun and accessible way of enjoying the outdoors. Participants will be guided on a short hike and shown various identification methods to focus the observation skills of our beginning birders.
HERPETOLOGY PROGRAM
Explore the slithery and scaly animals that call the low country home. This program includes a walk with a naturalist to attempt to find wild reptiles and amphibians. We will end with a question and answer circle and our educational ambassador snake which you will have the opportunity to touch.
PHENOLOGY WALK
Phenology or the study of how our natural world cycles and responds to the seasons can be a great lens through which to view the outdoors. Join a naturalist to see what’s in bloom, what’s hatching, what’s growing and what that can tell us about the interconnectedness of the habitat we are exploring.
MARSH ECOLOGY
Ecology is the study of a habitat and the connections between the living and non-living things found within that space. Explore these connections in a Georgia marsh with a SEEC educator, who can show you the unique qualities that make marshes vital to the health and biodiversity of our coast.
YOGA IN NATURE
Join a Certified Yoga Teacher and Naturalist for a Yoga class along a nature trail. We'll walk through maritime forest and along high marsh, enjoying wildlife sitings and practice Yoga poses, breathing exercises and meditation. All levels of Yoga experience are welcome!
KAYAKING
Join a Kayak Guide/Naturalist on an adventure through tidal creeks, learning about coastal salt marsh ecosystems. Watch for wading birds, Dolphins and various crab species as they hunt for food. See up close how every creature lives by the tides!
